Today, Microsoft released Minecraft version 1.2.552.0, which includes support for Windows Mixed Reality. Simply plug in any supported Windows Mixed Reality headset and you can dive right into an immersive Minecraft experience.

Microsoft has already started implementing VR in Minecraft using the Oculus and Gear headsets, but the introduction of Windows Mixed Reality headsets is Microsoft's attempt to VR more accessible to Windows 10 users. This is because Windows Mixed Reality is designed to support less powerful equipment, have a lower price point, and make it easier to setup with built-in tracking sensors in the headset rather than as standalone devices.
The below video, though recorded using Oculus headsets, demonstrates the existing VR experience in Minecraft.
With Windows 10 edition you can play using the Oculus Rift or the HTC Vive. From what I understand, only Gear VR is supported in Pocket Edition. Last edited by LloydAZ: Aug 4, 2017. Open your task manager and go to services: Look for Wuauserv, or Windows update, look to the right to see if it's status is running or stopped. Last suggestion I have this early, is go to your actual Windows. Minecraft Realms; REALMS-7288; Cannot start Minecraft VR windows 10.
Also included in this update is integration of Microsoft's live-streaming service called Mixer. This allows Minecrafters to easily stream their sessions without 3rd party software.

In this Instructable, you will be able to play Minecraft in VR.
How to download adobe reader. All you need is:
1. A VR compatible Smartphone
2. A USB to Micro USB cord (optional)
3. Some form of a Google Cardboard for Smartphones
4. A Windows based computer (not available for Mac)
5. Minecraft Java Edition 1.12.2
Those who own a: Oculus Rift, Windows MR, or a Vive, can do this as well, and with motion controllers, will have a better playing experience.
Let's get started.
Step 1: Install Rift Cat and Steam
Rift Cat is a program that makes the computer think your phone is a real virtual reality headset.
Unfortunately, it costs $15, but they offer free 10 minute sessions.
After the 10 minutes, you have to reset the game for another 10 minutes, and so on.
If you have a Vive, Oculus, ect. skip this step.
At this website download and install Rift Cat:
and at the Google Play store install their app on your Smartphone:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riftcat.vridge2(Make sure the version is 2.0).
Run Rift Cat on your computer and Vridge on your phone and connect them with the instructions given on the screen.
Note: If you use a USB cable to connect your phone to the computer, you will get better FPS (frames per second)

If you don't have Steam, go ahead and make an account and install it here:
Once you install Steam, launch it, sign in, go to the store, and install Steam VR. This is necessary.
After that, go back to Rift Cat, and launch Steam VR from there, and complete the setup.
Step 2: Minecraft VR
The next and final step, is to get ViveCraft.

ViveCraft is a mod that enables VR for Minecraft.
Download for Minecraft 1.12.2 (Download the highlighted link) :
Launch the installer, and make sure to have the three check boxes that are highlighted in the photos above.
Step 3: Launch Minecraft VR!
Go to the Rift Cat program and connect your phone. Now launch Steam VR from Rift Cat, and when it says it has connected to the headset, open Minecraft and make sure the profile is set to the Vivecraft Profile.
Run a world, than go to the Settings, and go to Options-VR Settings- and switch the play mode from standing to sitting unless you have motion controllers.

It may have some quirks, since this is not by Mojang themselves.
Although the Rift Cat is $15, it is worth it since it can be used with all Steam Vr Games, it's cheaper that a real VR headset. Although not all games work very good with it.
